In other news, I just can’t get enough of The End by the Doors. Soo good. Really in the mood to listen to Vietnam War era music, watch Apocalypse Now and play the shit out of Call of Duty Black Ops again.
Musings
Brainstorming ideas for my next short film because I’ve been feeling really creative lately. I’ve watched some pretty inspiring films as well like the Breakfast Club, Closer and 500 Days of Summer. Admittedly they’re about relationships and I don’t think I could write something about them that would be good enough but you only learn from trying I suppose.
I’ve never written anything properly but I’ve read a lot of scripts and I’ve been really eager to write something so I’m going to give it a go. I’ve always been scared of giving up through it or something but I need to just do it. :L
While walking to work today, I got some scenes in my head from listening to the song, Sweet Disposition by the Temper Trap. Admittedly they are pretty sad but I feel they could fit a film with some good feeling in it. Pretty scared about talking about it in case the reaction is like “Wtf man?” but that’s the kind of thing I need to overcome.
It’s time I got on with it.

Suspense thrillers in Hollywood are traditionally done almost entirely with music. The idea here was to remove the safety net that lets the audience feel like they know what’s going to happen. I think it makes the movie much more suspenseful. You’re not guided by the score and so you lose that comfort zone.

NASA announces new heavy-lifting rocket design for a tentative 2017 flight
In the post-shuttle era, we have a void in the mission to transport cargo to space. This system is supposedly targeted to be ready by 2017 (I’ll believe it when I see it, as NASA isn’t buying a lot of budget trust these days *cough*JamesWebb*cough*).
This rocket design could carry as much as 140,000 pounds of cargo, as opposed to the shuttle’s 50,000 pound capacity.
